Happy Halloween friends!! Any spooky Halloween plans? My plans involve handing out candy and drinking some cherry wine slush stuff. Don't worry I will share a picture, and a recipe.

If you've all followed my blog for awhile you probably know that I love the holidays. It's seriously the best time of the year. I knew I wanted to do something to get all us bloggers together, that's when Ash from The Grits Blog and I came up with the "25 Days of Blog Christmas!"

From December 1st to December 25th we will be hosting a spectacular link-up that involves everything from DIY projects to Christmas gift-guides. One thing we tried to do is make the topic list really hands-on so everyone can get into the spirit of the holidays, but also help you get ready for the holidays!

// I am originally from Nebraska. Although I have lived in South Dakota for 10ish years, I still refer to Nebraska as the place where I grew up.

// I love winter…probably because I am a December baby, so anything in the month of December gets me excited.

// Wine makes me SUPER giggly. I am the funniest person to go wine tasting with because after the second sip I can already feel my head becoming "light-headed," as well as the burning sensation that wine gives me when it goes down my throat.

// I love all vegetables (except asparagus).

// I am a huge introvert, I would rather stay at home with my bf and watch a movie then go out.

// I have a 16 year old sister and 9 year old brother. My sister and I never got along…we used to fight, like physically. I would whip her around (carefully, because I never wanted to hurt her), and then she would charge at me and kick me and it would go on until she generally started crying. I would run around the house and grab all the phones and hide them in my room so she couldn't call mom and dad.  I know, bad sister, but we love each other now.


// I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to finances. One of the most important things for me is being financially stable. Not necessarily having a ton of money, but having enough in case something bad happens.

// Working at the hospital I have seen almost all there is to see, and only one thing makes me gag…boogers. Or when someone tries to get their snot at the front of their mouth…GROSS.

// I hate running.

// I love taking naps but they are usually 1-2 hour naps…if I get woken up, I am really crabby!

// I desperately want a husky, or a pomsky.

// I love to rap. Lil Wayne, Drake, you name it, I rap it. (Well, I try)

Today's Blogtober prompt is "Your most embarrassing moment." I immediately knew what mine was but it's too horrific to blog about. We are talking Defcon 1 embarrassing. Let's just say it involves Aunt Flow from Redcloud, science class, and a whole lot of students.

Moving on; you all know I love storage…and polka dots, but mostly storage. See this post for more storage ideas! I visit our local Michael's craft store every other week and this week I found the most adorable adhesive fabric. I knew immediately that I wanted to create a cute storage box to keep on my desk. I feel like you can't have enough storage and even if some boxes are not being used remember that Christmas is approximately 56 days away, so eventually you will fill that box.

I wouldn't necessarily say I am 100% superstitious, but there are definitely some things that I believe in that are probably borderline silly and completely superstitious.

1. What goes around comes around. I truly believe this; I try not to put myself in situations that are toxic because I don't want to become "that person" and I try to hold myself to a certain standard all the time because who knows when it could come bite me in the butt.

2. Find a penny pick it up the rest of the day you'll have good luck. The problem with this is that if you find a penny and it's tails…you'll have bad luck. This happens too often; so instead of picking it up I flip it over to heads so the next person will at least have some luck.

3. I used to not walk under ladders, but one time I did, and nothing happened. I still try to avoid this at all costs (more in case the ladder falls on my head), you never know when you could have bad luck.

4. I only open the umbrella outside…if you open it outside, your screwed.

5. Never tell anyone what your wish is…I hate when people ask me what I wished for…um it won't come true if I tell you!

Dear Little Tay,

Just look at that infectious smile…it really was contagious. And oh, how happy you were…all the time. Well, it was just you and your mom until you were six…you played that over well, but you stepped into the big sister role well. Your days consisted of singing JoDee Messina and Shania Twain and dancing all over the place. Mom did a really good job doing your hair and dressing you cute…thanks for helping big Tay out with her style. Who knows where she would be today if it weren't for you. And don't worry little Tay, you eventually do like your sister…but Big Tay has a lot of making up to do since you terrorized that poor girl when you were little. Teen Tay was probably the worst. And oh! I almost  forgot little Tay, you eventually get a baby brother…teen Tay does an excellent job at taking care of him and giving him lots of grandma kisses. 

I must say, thanks for giving teen Tay and big Tay a dose of reality. You always lived life to the fullest and even when you were a toddler and you tumbled all the way down grandpa's stairs, you only came out with a little bloody nose. We are proud of you. You were pretty sneaky back in the day; teen Tay and big Tay hold up their end pretty well too. That one time, when you drew all over the white wall with a permanent marker, yeah, it took mom and dad awhile to figure out who did that. Good for you! Mom and dad still don't know that teen Tay and big Tay have found their Christmas presents almost every year…it's our little secret.

I must also mention, Barney is no longer a big deal…I don't even think they play his shows anymore:(. Don't worry though, big Tay always stands up for Barney when others say he turned out gay and he was stupid. I know he was your favorite and he taught you a lot; no matter what Barney was, he was sure a good role model for you. Let's be honest, the only reason big Tay graduated college with a degree in Chemistry is because of you; because you were so insistent on watching Barney all the time. Big Tay thanks you for that. 

I better wrap this letter up, big Tay has to head to work…thanks little Tay for all the great memories. Oh, one more thing, Halloween is on Friday, have you decided on a costume? Big Tay highly suggests that you don't let your mom and your little sister rope you into being your little sister's side kick this year. That one year she was Woody and you were Jessie, well she got all the attention. Pick a good one…I'm sure you will little Tay.

Ok, so today's Blogtober prompt is who you would play in a movie. I decided to take a quiz on Buzzfeed because well, they are right about everything.

One of my favorite things to do is read. While I was in college I never had time to read except for all the chemistry textbooks that I had to buy…and who wants to do that? Now that I have graduated I have been reading in full force. I couldn't narrow down just one book that is my favorite so I made a list:


2// GirlBoss, hands down one of the best "motivational" books I have read. Any and every female who simply wants to feel empowered should read this book; especially those women wanting or running their own business.

3// The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy is one of my all time favorites. I have read the three series three times and I generally finish all of the books within one week. I never thought the books would be about what it is, I thought it was about a lawyer…I was wrong. Nevertheless, I am so glad I read them!! I also cannot wait until the movie comes out n Valentine's Day 2015…who's coming with?

4// I love Emily Schuman's blog Cupcakes & Cashmere, I was even more excited when I saw she had a book (Cupcakes & Cashmere)…and it's amazing. From style tips to party tips it is a great book for inspiration.

5// The Hunger Games Trilogy are obviously a given. These books are amazing and I could not put them down. Just like Harry Potter they leave you wanting more and once again I cannot wait to see the movie in November!! Read these if you haven't, so good.
