Ever since I was about 10-11 years old, I would rearrange and decorate my room. I would shut my door, turn on my 3 disc CD player (the kind that changed colors) and stay in my room until it was just the way I liked it. You can say this has transgressed into my later years as I love all things organizing and decorating. I spend hours looking through books, magazines, Pinterest boards, and online sites searching for inspiration and styling ideas. My only problem is we move so often (with a lot of moving ahead) and over time I have gotten rid of so much stuff, it helps the moving process significantly!

Anyways, when we moved into this rental home, I fell in love with these shelves on either side of the electric fireplace. I was so excited to fill them up when I realized I didn't have much to fill them up with! Well, a quick stop at the T.J. Maxx clearance aisle, Home Goods, and H&M Home, I had plenty of accesories to style these shelves simply. I took some inspiration from one of my favorite bloggers and channeled this styling with my own twist. While I know I will go back and switch things up frequently I am very happy with the result. Simplistic but tasteful…what do you think?
