Closet Diaries - Tay Meets World

Closet Diaries

One thing that has always been a battle is my closet. We have moved around quite a bit and either the closets are getting smaller, or I'm getting more clothes. Either way, I try to utilize the space I have with storage shelves, a small vanity, and plenty of hooks. I feel like I am in the beginning stages of Carrie Bradshaw's life (minus the crazy relationships). She loved fashion and spent more on her wardrobe than anything else. #guilty Her closet was stuffed full of beautiful, vintage clothes....and it wasn't until years later she upgraded to the closets of all closets. I will get there eventually, we are taking baby steps.

One of my favorite things to do is switch out my winter clothes to spring/summer. There is something refreshing about spring cleaning and re-organizing that is not only rejuvenating but calming for me. It's like starting with a clean slate, and it helps me de-stress.
I am very particular about the way I organize my closet. First, the clothes must be color coded, then I generally separate them by sweaters, work wear, and casual wear. I display all of my jewelry and my shoes; I have always preferred to see everything I am working with.
This jewelry t-stand is amazing! It's the perfect way to show off all your pretty jewels but also keep your necklaces from tangling. Just as well, most of my necklaces are large statement necklaces and are to bulky for any jewelry case. I also use a large glass jewelry box to display my bracelets, watches, and earrings. You can find inexpensive ones at H&M!
What are some closet essentials that you need?
