Best Napa Valley Wineries - Tay Meets World

Best Napa Valley Wineries

It took me a long time (well, if you can classify four years as a long time) to like wine. For the most part, I would only drink very sweet, white wine. I'm assuming with multiple wine tastings and trying a variety of wines that my pallet has become more refined, I am much more open to both red and white wines. While there are so many wineries to choose from in Napa there were a few that stood out to me - one's that I would definitely go back to!
1. Artesa: This was the first winery we went to and it did not disappoint - I could've easily spent a day here! The chardonnay and pinot noir were delicious; once we were finished with the tasting we sat outside and the views were breathtaking. The winery is built into the hillside to keep the original landscape - if you want a beautiful view of Napa, this is the place.

2. Domaine Carneros: Probably my favorite winery - the sparkling wine was so refreshing, and delicious! Just as well, their cheese platter paired perfectly. If you enjoy sparkling wine, I recommend spending some time here. Plus, the estate and views are breathtaking.

3. Domaine Chandon: The best spot for rosé. The winery itself is large and their samples fill a glass. We would get a sample and then walk around the grounds - it was fairly busy but if you bring a blanket there is plenty of room to relax under the trees and look out onto the vineyard.

4. V. Sattui Winery: This was more of a marketplace but the wine tastings were great and they had a large selection of cheeses and meat. We tasted wine, bought some cheese and crackers and sat outside for awhile. This is a good place to stop if you have stopped at a few wineries beforehand (let the food soak up all the wine)!
Other recommendations that I've heard are great but we ran out of time: Nickel & Nickel, Round Pond, McMurray Winery, and Frog's Leap. Make sure to look and plan ahead in case you need an appointment. If you are winery hoping for the day, it doesn't hurt to rent a car or plan the travel itinerary beforehand. If you've been to Napa share your recommendations below so I can add them to my list for next time!
