Travel Guide: Paris, France - Tay Meets World

Travel Guide: Paris, France

The city of love...it's true, there is something so romantic about Paris. Maybe it's the deep rooted history, the museums filled with beautiful sculptures and paintings, maybe it's the Romanesque architecture or the exquisite cuisine on every corner. Whatever it is, you'll love it. Last September, we spent four days in Paris after our jaunt from London. I've posted a Travel Guide in regards to Paris before so in this guide I wanted to share a list of things you must do & see and Paris tips/tricks. You won't be able to accomplish everything in Paris in one trip - there is simply too much - but that's the beauty. Every time you go back, you can experience something new.
My advice: pick activities that are in close relation to one another to plan your itinerary and get an early start. End the evening with a long relaxing dinner, Parisian style.
Getting Around:
The first trip to Paris in 2017, the metro and bus system was very easy to use. This time around - we struggled! They are undergoing construction at some of the major stops which created more navigating for us. We were also there during a 'manifestation' or protest as we say in America so they shut down half of the metro and we were stuck in the city. They also had a mandatory no driving day to lower emissions on a Monday. This put a hinge in our plans since the metro was closed 😂. I must also say that the public transportation is OVERFLOWING. It's jam-packed with people - you have no personal space...bystanders were literally trying to help a girl shove herself onto the metro. #nothankyouillwalk Also, hold your bags extra close as you are more susceptible to pick-pocketers when you are that close and try to travel to where you're going before or after peak rush-hours.

**I like to think I'm really good at navigating, even overseas, and while we did fine in Paris, it was still hard and I couldn't imagine doing that having never been! I found a map to be most helpful as google maps wasn't as accurate.

What To Do:
I chose attractions that were in close proximity for this itinerary, it's how we separated our trip too. In Paris, a lot of things are within walking distance of one another but you want to plan accordingly as there is a lot to see! You will do a lot of walking in Paris, so comfortable tennis shoes are necessary. Depending on when you go (we went in fall) it could rain so pack an umbrella - or buy one at a museum like we had too😂.
Tip: Save these maps or make your own and use that as an itinerary, you can download to your device as well for easy access.
