Today I am sharing look 3 for 5 different ways to wear this dress. Last weekend, it was in the 40's one day here in SoDak so I decided what better way to celebrate the warmer weather then pull out some spring accessories. I love transitioning into spring; you can wear lighter clothing, lighter layers, and the pops of color are nice too!
There have been a lot of birthdays lately and I have been at a total loss at what to get the birthday girl. From my sweet nanny girls to best girlfriends sometimes I think picking out one thing to give them is overrated and doesn't make them feel as special as they should on their birthday. I loved the idea of throwing a bunch of their favorite things in a super cute box and giving it to them….so that's exactly what I did! My mom did this for Christmas; she used Kate Spade nesting boxes and tossed in clothes, office supplies, makeup, candy, etc…it made opening my gifts that much more exciting.
Below is a gift that I made up for one of my nanny girls, I would substitute the markers, colored pencils, and nail polish with this, this, and this for a girlfriend!
**Box was found at T.J Maxx.

We are on look two of the "one dress, five ways." Can I just say that I would NOT wear this outfit when there is snow in the background…however mother nature surprised me and I wasn't going to let it put a damper on my plans. I have always loved how some women can pull of such an effortless sporty look. This dress is again, super comfortable so you could wear it with anything, for anything…even to the Oscars. (Okay, that might be a stretch.)

Two looks so far, how else would you wear this LBD?

If you are anything like me, then you know how difficult it can be to find the perfect shade of lipstick. I have fair skin and I used to feel like I was limited with lip options. I have decided that I want to change my ways of thinking and I am now on the hunt to find at least 10 perfect shades of pinks, reds, and maroons that work well with fair skin. The four colors below are your basic colors that work well with fair skin but they also transition nicely withe the changing seasons. Since I am on a "lip-color" hunt, I am open to all recommendations. What is your favorite brand to wear and is there a color of lipstick that I need to have?? Please share!
Chanel "Pirate" // Givenchy "Carmin Escarpin" // Marvelous Moxie "Hot Shot" // Marvelous Moxie "Femme Fatale"
I have been doing a bit of soul searching lately…it's one of those things where I'm stumbling around a bit, crying, laughing, sobbing, wishing, praying, looking; trying to find my place in life. I also know that I am not alone. Quite a few of my friends are going through the same thing and I can't help but wonder how we get in these positions in the first place? Why do we feel lost? Why do we long to feel appreciated and accepted by others? Why don't we try to please ourselves first? Why, in times of trouble do we run to the comfort in our lives rather than spread our wings and find our own comfort?
Here's what I've learned so far:
// We all make mistakes.
// We fall in love.
// We fall out of love.
// We find our passion.
// We find the beauty the world has to offer.
// We long for more in life.
// We seek adventure.
// We meet people who change everything.
// We learn to trust.
// We don't trust.
// We fail.
// We are unsuccessful.
// We try and try and when that fails we try some more.
// We love unconditionally.
// We get scared.
// We are afraid of risks.
// We are beautiful.
// We are just as beautiful as the beautiful person next to us.
// We deserve to be a priority. The number one priority.
// We pray to give us hope.
// We meet new people who inspire us.
// We lose loved ones.
// We seek a new career.
// We lose the career we have.
// We learn what loss is.
// We long to feel something…something so strong.
// We aim to please.
// We fail at pleasing ourselves.
// We deserve to love ourselves.
// We deserve to be loved unconditionally, flaws and all.
// We deserve to be surrounded by people who support our every move.
// We are human. We make mistakes. We seek new adventures. And that my friends is OKAY.
I by no means practice what I preach but I am definitely trying to. I am trying to appreciate myself and appreciate where I am in life. My mother has always said I have an old soul, and I think she's right. At work, I am the girl who would rather talk to the "older" generations (I say this nicely) rather than people my age. At home, I am more content by myself than going out to the bars…school was the same thing. Being an "old soul" I have definitely had my self esteem issues…older people don't judge as much, they are nicer, more accepting (at least that's what I think). I hate feeling like I have to compete with the girl next to me. But why do I feel like this? Why do you feel like that?
It's not fun to feel like the "duff:" dumb, ugly, fat, friend…we have all been there, don't deny it. Well, I am putting a kibosh to that. I don't want to always long for that acceptance of others, I need to accept myself. There will be people, along the way, that will also accept you…and those are the people that I want in my life. I look at all the friends I have; here in South Dakota, in other states, over the internet…and all I have to say is I am so blessed to be gifted with beautiful and kind friends such as you.
We are not "duffs," we are important. We are smart. We matter. Just as much as that "popular girl," that always appears in some aspect of your life. It's not always easy to remember this, and sometimes you need someone to remind you. Hopefully, this post can be that reminder to you.
You are beautiful. You are smart. You are important. You are you and that is the best thing in the world.

My coffee and inspiration for the day.

I got this Lou & Grey dress a few weeks back from The Loft, and it is the most comfortable dress in the world. I am not kidding you folks, I would wear this bed, to church, on a date, to the mall, out to eat, for Christmas, etc, etc. With this dress being so versatile I wanted to show all the different ways that I wear it. This first look is fun for a date or a night out; it's that classic look that is super easy to pull together.

What is one dress that you can wear everywhere?
Last night I was scrolling through Facebook and I found this quiz that a friend had posted. I immediately clicked on it and took the quiz. I was bummed the quiz wasn't from buzzfeed, because let's be honest, buzzfeed is way more credible. So, I decided to look for a similar one and guess what? Buzzfeed had one. Ergo, my post today.
Colder weather means Christmas and my birthday are coming and we all know I love those holidays.
We We, Parlez-vous français?
Sometimes I order nothing, then other times I order a cookie.
I, myself, do not sit down and actively watch sports on TV. Nor do I turn it to that channel. #notasportsperson
I would probably be the DD so no alcohol for muah.
Because some call me high maintenance. I like to think of it as, I know what I want in life.
Although I disagree with the fact that I was labeled a frappuccino, I do like how they described it. Ok, go take the quiz and tell me what you got!!!
