The Proposal Story {{Warning: Cheesiness Ahead}}

12:00:00 AM

Most gals always day dream about the day their handsome prince will propose, myself included. Well, our engagement was everything I thought it would be and more (although, if we could have avoided the snow storm and been on the beach instead that would've been nice).  So, if you are in the mood for some sentiment, or need a little cheesiness in your life, read on. If you don't like that stuff, I apologize, and I will return tomorrow with our regular viewing material.

It was the first Monday after Christmas, I was supposed to be coming home from work at 5pm but I showed up at noon instead (thankfully, I can work remotely when the weather is bad). I came home and stuck myself in the office for the rest of the afternoon, Adam mentioned that if I needed anything to just let him know and he would get it for me. I just laughed when he said that, I knew he was up to something but I couldn't figure out what. (I was thinking it was an early birthday present, which had me very excited.)
At around 4:30pm, the office door opened and Summit came trotting in dawning the cutest bow-tie. I was utterly confused but figured this was part of the "birthday surprise." Adam called Summit a minute or two later and he raced out and I followed…obviously. Out in the living room he was standing by the Christmas tree smiling. I starting laughing hysterically; that nervous laugh that is uncontrollable. On the Christmas tree, he had put a bunch of photos of us with tag lines/memories written above them. I was racking my brain trying to determine what he was doing because I just didn't think a proposal was happening.

As I was laughing and reading all the photos placed on the tree, I got to a photo that was a picture of us with some friends from high school who happened to get engaged the day before. Above the picture he had written, "Isn't it crazy how we starting dating only a few weeks apart and now we are getting engaged one day apart?" That is obviously when I knew.
He then said a lot of words that I don't remember because I was crying (the Kim Kardashian ugly kind of cry) and he took out the ring, got down on one knee, and popped the question. I don't even think I let him finish the question before I said yes! Afterwards, a lot of phone calls were made and we eventually made it out to a nice dinner…oh and we pulled the "we just engaged card" and we received complimentary glasses of champagne. #winning
He mentioned to me that he had all of these elaborate plans but decided that ultimately, it would be the best if it was just us two in our little home with our pup…and I could't have agreed more.

By now you are probably sick of reading about engagements and weddings so I will hold off for awhile …maybe. Until then, if you are engaged or married, I want to hear YOUR proposal story. Share in the comments below!
