Favorite Fall Recipe (Sort of)
7:44:00 AMThis weekend was spent working and sleeping. Bf worked at the hospital so I was left at home. Instead of being Susie Homemaker I decided to be Susie Worker, which means I didn't make a really yummy fall recipe to share with you all like today's #Blogtober14 prompt says I should've. Anyways, last week I made apple crisp and it turned out wonderfully so I thought I'd share that recipe with you instead!
1 // Wash apples… I used about 8-10 apples from our local apple orchard, some were fairly small.
2 // Peel apples after they have been washed.
3 // The Peeled Apple.
4 // Slice the apples and depending on how large the slices are, cut them into thinner slices.
5 // Spread them in a pan/dish of your choice. I used a 9 x 12 glass pan…they are my favorite to cook with.
6 // Cover the entire bottom of the dish…this process took awhile because I had a lot of apples to peel and I was easily distracted.
7 //
- Mix 3/4 packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/3 cup margarine
- 3/4 tsp cinamon
- 3/4 tsp nutmeg
8 // Spread your oat mixture over your apples. ( I sprinkled some sugar over it too!)
9 // Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees and wahlah!
Note: This recipe is NOT as good as our family recipe that is hidden somewhere. This is a good semi-healthy version but I am determined to bring you a better recipe soon!
